Baked Cabbage Steaks


  • 1 large head of cabbage
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)


  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Remove any loose or tough outer leaves from the cabbage. Cut the cabbage into 1-inch thick slices (steaks) and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and paprika.
  4. Brush the cabbage slices generously with the olive oil mixture on both sides.
  5. Roast in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender and the edges are golden brown.
  6. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the cabbage steaks during the last 5 minutes of baking.
  7. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
