Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Directions:
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add 3 popcorn kernels and cover.
- Once these kernels pop, add the remaining popcorn kernels and sugar, stirring quickly to coat the kernels evenly.
- Cover the pot and shake it gently back and forth over the burner. Continue shaking frequently to prevent the sugar from burning.
- Once the popping slows down to several seconds between pops, remove the pot from heat. Keep the lid on until the popping stops completely.
- Pour the kettle corn into a large bowl, sprinkle with salt, and toss to distribute the salt evenly.
- Allow the kettle corn to cool for a few minutes before serving to avoid burns.
