Sausage Muffins

  • 1 lb ground breakfast sausage
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 egg

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 12-cup muffin tin or line with paper liners.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground sausage over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat and set aside to cool slightly.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  4. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and cooked sausage until evenly distributed.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, vegetable oil, and egg.
  6. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  7. Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups, filling each about 3/4 full.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.
  9. Allow the muffins to cool in the tin for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
