- 2 cups granulated sugar

- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Directions:
- Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, unsalted butter, whole milk, cocoa powder, and salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture comes to a boil.
- Continue to boil for 5 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent sticking.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually stir in the powdered sugar until the mixture is smooth and well combined. If using, fold in the chopped nuts.
- Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
- Let the fudge cool completely at room temperature before cutting it into squares.
