Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 24 oz jar of marinara sauce
- 1 cup water
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 9 lasagna noodles, uncooked
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic until the beef is browned. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in the marinara sauce and water, and bring to a simmer. Remove from heat.
- In a bowl, mix together ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, 1 cup of mozzarella, egg, parsley, salt, and pepper.
- Spoon a layer of the meat sauce into the bottom of the crockpot.
- Place a layer of uncooked lasagna noodles over the sauce (break them to fit).
- Spread a layer of the cheese mixture over the noodles.
- Repeat the layering process until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of meat sauce.
- Top with the remaining mozzarella cheese.
- Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours, until noodles are tender.
- Let the lasagna sit for 10 minutes after cooking before serving to set the layers.
