Dirty Shrimp In Butter Beer Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beer (your choice)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for extra heat)
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Directions:

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the shrimp and cook until they are pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Pour in the beer, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce (if using). Stir in the Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 5-7 minutes, allowing the sauce to reduce slightly.
  4. Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the shrimp are heated through.
  5. Garnish with chopped green onions and fresh parsley before serving.
