Deep Fried Ranch Mushrooms

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb whole mushrooms, cleaned and stems trimmed
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Ranch dressing for dipping

Directions:

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, ranch seasoning mix, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and buttermilk.
  3. Dip each mushroom into the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off, then coat in the flour mixture, pressing lightly to adhere.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry the mushrooms in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pot, until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per batch.
  6. Remove the mushrooms with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve hot with ranch dressing for dipping.
