Ingredients:
- 1 lb whole mushrooms, cleaned and stems trimmed
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Ranch dressing for dipping
Directions:
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, ranch seasoning mix, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and buttermilk.
- Dip each mushroom into the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off, then coat in the flour mixture, pressing lightly to adhere.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the mushrooms in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pot, until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per batch.
- Remove the mushrooms with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with ranch dressing for dipping.
