Cucumber Salad


  • 2 large cucumbers, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup vinegar (white or apple cider)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
  • Optional: 1 clove garlic, minced


  1. In a large bowl, combine the sliced cucumbers and red onion.
  2. In a separate small bowl, whisk together vinegar, olive oil, sugar, salt, black pepper, and minced garlic if using.
  3. Pour the dressing over the cucumbers and onions, tossing to ensure all slices are evenly coated.
  4. Sprinkle with chopped fresh dill and toss again.
  5. Refrigerate the salad for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld together.
  6. Serve chilled as a refreshing side dish or appetizer.
