- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
- 2/3 cup buttermilk
For the Honey Butter:
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and granulated sugar.
- Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or two knives until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Gradually add the buttermilk, stirring just until the dough comes together.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently 3-4 times. Roll the dough out to a 1/2-inch thickness.
- Use a biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown.
- While the biscuits are baking, prepare the honey butter by mixing the melted butter, honey, and granulated sugar in a small bowl.
- As soon as the biscuits come out of the oven, brush the tops generously with the honey butter.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
