For the Biscuits:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 2/3 cup buttermilk

For the Honey Butter:

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and granulated sugar.
  3. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or two knives until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Gradually add the buttermilk, stirring just until the dough comes together.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently 3-4 times. Roll the dough out to a 1/2-inch thickness.
  6. Use a biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown.
  8. While the biscuits are baking, prepare the honey butter by mixing the melted butter, honey, and granulated sugar in a small bowl.
  9. As soon as the biscuits come out of the oven, brush the tops generously with the honey butter.
  10. Serve warm and enjoy!
