Chicken Parmesan Casserole


  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)


  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine Italian-style breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, dried basil, and dried oregano.
  3. Toss the chicken pieces with olive oil, then coat them in the breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Spread the coated chicken pieces evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  5. Pour the marinara sauce evenly over the chicken.
  6. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the top.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving, if desired.
