Tender steak pieces are seared until golden and juicy, then coated in a rich garlic butter sauce and finished with a creamy Parmesan sauce. Serve them over mashed potatoes, rice, or with crusty bread to enjoy every drop of the delicious sauce.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs sirloin steak or ribeye, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
- 4 tablespoons butter, divided
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ½ cup beef broth
- ¾ cup heavy cream
- ¾ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Pat the steak cubes dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add half of the steak cubes in a single layer (avoid overcrowding the pan). Sear for 2–3 minutes per side until nicely browned. Remove and repeat with the remaining steak and oil.
- Reduce the heat to medium. Add 2 tablespoons butter to the same skillet. Once melted, add the minced garlic and cook for 30–60 seconds until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
- Pour in the beef broth and scrape the browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Let it simmer for 1 minute.
- Stir in the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning. Simmer gently for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and the cheese melts completely.
- Return the steak bites to the skillet along with any juices. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons butter and stir until everything is coated in the creamy garlic sauce. Cook for 1–2 minutes until heated through.
- Remove from heat and garnish with fresh chopped parsley.
- Serve immediately over mashed potatoes, rice, garlic bread, or alongside roasted vegetables.
Tips & Variations
- High-protein meal: This dish is naturally high in protein. Pair it with roasted broccoli or a fresh salad for a balanced meal.
- Keep it tender: Sear the steak quickly over high heat and finish it in the sauce. Avoid overcooking for the best texture.
- Budget-friendly option: Sirloin or cubed stew meat works well and still tastes delicious.
- Make it a full meal: Serve with garlic mashed potatoes, creamy polenta, mushrooms, or spinach mixed into the sauce.
- Leftovers: Reheat gently on the stovetop with a splash of cream or broth to loosen the sauce. It is best enjoyed fresh.
