Cheesy Hamburger Potato Casserole

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cups potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 can (10.75 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the ground beef and onion over medium heat until the beef is browned and the onion is translucent. Drain any excess fat.
  3. In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes, followed by half of the cooked beef and onion mixture, and sprinkle with half of the cheese.
  4. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, beef and onion, and cheese.
  5. In a small bowl, mix together the milk, condensed soup, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  6. Pour this mixture over the layers in the baking dish.
  7. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden brown.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
