Cabbage Pie


  • 1 large head of cabbage, finely shredded
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon caraway seeds (optional)
  • 1 pie crust (homemade or store-bought)


  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add onions and sauté until they become translucent.
  3. Add the shredded cabbage to the skillet, season with salt, pepper, and caraway seeds. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender and slightly caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.
  4. Spoon the cabbage mixture into the pie crust, spreading evenly.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until the crust is golden brown.
  6. Let the pie cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
