- Ingredients:
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the buttermilk to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. The dough will be sticky.
- Pour the melted butter into an 8×8 inch baking dish.
- Place the dough on top of the melted butter in the baking dish. Spread it out evenly, reaching the edges of the dish.
- Using a sharp knife, cut the dough into 9 squares before baking.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the biscuits cool for a few minutes before serving.
