Butter Swim Biscuits

  1. Ingredients:
    • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
    • 1 tablespoon baking powder
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
    • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
    Directions:
    1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
    2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
    3. Add the buttermilk to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. The dough will be sticky.
    4. Pour the melted butter into an 8×8 inch baking dish.
    5. Place the dough on top of the melted butter in the baking dish. Spread it out evenly, reaching the edges of the dish.
    6. Using a sharp knife, cut the dough into 9 squares before baking.
    7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
    8. Let the biscuits cool for a few minutes before serving.
