Sweet Roll Cheesecake Danishes

  1. Ingredients:
    • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent rolls
    • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
    • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
    • 1 egg yolk
    • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

    Lemon Glaze:

    • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
    • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
    • 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest

    Directions:

    1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    2. Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into 4 rectangles. Pinch the seams together to seal them.
    3. In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, lemon zest, egg yolk, and flour until smooth.
    4. Spread a generous amount of the cream cheese mixture onto each rectangle of dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
    5. Roll up each rectangle starting from the long side, then shape each roll into a spiral or a coil.
    6. Place the danishes onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
    7. While the danishes are baking, prepare the lemon glaze by mixing the powdered sugar, lemon juice, and lemon zest in a small bowl until smooth.
    8. Allow the danishes to cool slightly, then drizzle with the lemon glaze before serving.
