Louisiana BBQ Shrimp

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons hot sauce (like Tabasco)
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 cup beer (optional)
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • French bread (for serving)

Directions:

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter with the olive oil.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, hot sauce, paprika, cayenne pepper, black pepper, salt, thyme, rosemary, oregano, and beer (if using). Bring the mixture to a simmer.
  4. Add the shrimp to the skillet, stirring to coat them in the sauce. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque.
  5. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions and fresh parsley.
  6. Serve the shrimp hot with plenty of sauce for dipping, accompanied by French bread.
