King’s Hawaiian Cheesecake Danish

Ingredients:

  • 1 package King’s Hawaiian Rolls (12 count)
  • 1 package cream cheese (8 ounces), softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup guava paste, thinly sliced
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice the King’s Hawaiian Rolls in half horizontally to create a top and bottom layer.
  3. In a mixing bowl, blend the softened cream cheese with granulated sugar and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the bottom layer of the Hawaiian Rolls.
  5. Place the thin slices of guava paste over the cream cheese.
  6. Replace the top layer of the rolls and brush the top with beaten egg.
  7. Sprinkle all-purpose flour over the rolls to help them brown and prevent sticking.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar. Serve warm.
