Homemade Grape Jelly

Ingredients:

  • 3 1/2 cups grape juice (preferably fresh or unsweetened)
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 package (1.75 ounces) regular powdered fruit pectin
  • 4 1/2 cups granulated sugar

Directions:

  1. In a large pot, combine grape juice, lemon juice, and pectin. Bring the mixture to a full rolling boil over high heat, stirring constantly.
  2. Add the sugar all at once and return to a full boil. Boil hard for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  3. Remove from heat, skim off any foam with a metal spoon.
  4. Ladle immediately into sterilized jars, leaving 1/4 inch headspace. Wipe the rims of the jars with a moistened cloth and apply the lids and bands.
  5. Process in a water bath canner for 10 minutes. Remove jars and allow to cool on a cloth-covered or wood surface for 12-24 hours. Check seals.
