Ingredients:
- 6 ripe tomatoes, finely chopped
- 1/2 red onion, finely chopped
- 2 jalapeños, seeds removed and finely chopped
- 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- Juice of 2 limes
- Salt to taste
Directions:
- In a medium bowl, combine the chopped tomatoes, red onion, jalapeños, and cilantro.
- Squeeze the lime juice over the mixture and sprinkle with salt to taste.
- Stir all the ingredients together until well mixed.
- Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary, adding more lime juice or salt as desired.
- Let the pico de gallo sit for at least 30 minutes at room temperature or chill in the refrigerator to allow the flavors to meld together.
- Serve with chips, as a topping for tacos, or alongside any Mexican dish.
