Best Pico de Gallo


  • 6 ripe tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 1/2 red onion, finely chopped
  • 2 jalapeños, seeds removed and finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Juice of 2 limes
  • Salt to taste


  1. In a medium bowl, combine the chopped tomatoes, red onion, jalapeños, and cilantro.
  2. Squeeze the lime juice over the mixture and sprinkle with salt to taste.
  3. Stir all the ingredients together until well mixed.
  4. Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary, adding more lime juice or salt as desired.
  5. Let the pico de gallo sit for at least 30 minutes at room temperature or chill in the refrigerator to allow the flavors to meld together.
  6. Serve with chips, as a topping for tacos, or alongside any Mexican dish.
