Description

Taco Stuffed Shells are a delicious and easy dinner idea, combining the flavors of tacos with pasta for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 20 pieces jumbo pasta shells
  • 1 pound ground beef (or turkey)
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 cup taco sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup diced onion (optional)
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish (to taste)
  • Sour cream for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Boil the jumbo pasta shells according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef (or turkey) over medium heat. Drain any excess fat, then stir in the taco seasoning and ½ cup of taco sauce. Cook for about 5 minutes until combined and heated through.
  4. Lower the heat and add the softened cream cheese, mixing until melted and combined with the beef mixture. Stir in the diced onions if you’re using them.
  5. Spoon the filling into the cooked pasta shells, using about 2 tablespoons of the mixture for each shell.
  6. Spread a thin layer of taco sauce on the bottom of a baking dish. Place the stuffed shells seam-side up in the dish. Pour the remaining taco sauce over the shells and top with shredded cheese.
  7. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Once done, remove from the oven, garnish with fresh cilantro, and serve with a dollop of sour cream. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Use turkey for a healthier alternative to ground beef.
  • Feel free to customize the filling with additional ingredients like black beans or corn.
  • For a vegetarian option, substitute the meat with a plant-based protein.
