Instructions

  1. Rinse the salmon fillets and pat them dry with a paper towel to promote even cooking.
  2. On a large plate, drizzle olive oil over the salmon. Sprinkle salt and black pepper generously on both sides.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add a splash of olive oil if needed and allow it to heat until shimmering.
  4. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes, without moving them around.
  5. Carefully flip the salmon and cook for another 3-4 minutes. In the last minute of cooking, add minced garlic if using.
  6. Pour in the lemon juice and sprinkle the lemon zest and fresh dill over the fillets. Let it cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  7. Transfer the salmon to a plate and garnish with extra lemon wedges and dill for a stunning presentation.
