- Ingredients:
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups mixed nuts (pecans, walnuts, almonds)
Directions:
- In a large saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, whole milk, and unsalted butter. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture reaches the soft-ball stage (235-240°F or 112-116°C) on a candy thermometer.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and mixed nuts. Continue stirring until the mixture thickens and loses its gloss.
- Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Let cool completely until firm.
- Store the candy in an airtight container at room temperature.
