Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons lemon zest (about 2 lemons)
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
For the Lemon Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2-3 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, until well combined. Add the lemon zest and lemon juice, mixing well.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the brownies to cool completely in the baking dish.
- While the brownies are cooling, prepare the lemon glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar, lemon juice, and lemon zest until smooth.
- Once the brownies are cool, spread the lemon glaze evenly over the top. Let the glaze set before cutting into squares.
