Description

Hot Honey Chicken Sliders are a delicious combination of sweet and spicy flavors, featuring crispy fried chicken thighs coated in a hot honey mayo sauce, served on soft slider buns.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 12 slider buns
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup hot honey (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • Sliced pickles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken thighs in a mixture of buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper for at least 1 hour or overnight.
  2. Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Prepare the breading station by mixing flour, cornmeal, baking powder, and cayenne pepper in one bowl.
  4. Remove the marinated chicken from the buttermilk, letting excess drip off, and dredge in the flour mixture.
  5. Fry the chicken thighs in the hot oil for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Transfer the cooked chicken to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  7. Mix mayonnaise and hot honey in a small bowl to create the sauce.
  8. Assemble the sliders by spreading hot honey mayo on the bottom half of the slider bun, adding fried chicken, shredded lettuce, and pickles if desired, then topping with the bun.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra heat, add cayenne pepper to the breading mixture.
  • These sliders are perfect for game day or casual gatherings.
  • Feel free to customize toppings according to your preference.
