Description

Homemade Hara Bhara Kabab is a healthy and delicious snack made with spinach, green peas, and a blend of spices, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups spinach leaves, washed and chopped
  • 1/2 cup green peas, boiled
  • 1/2 cup potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped green beans
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped coriander leaves
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped mint leaves
  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (plus extra for coating)
  • Oil for shallow frying

Instructions

  1. Blanch the chopped spinach leaves in boiling water for about 2 minutes, then transfer to ice water.
  2. Once cooled, squeeze out excess water and chop the spinach finely.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine chopped spinach, boiled green peas, mashed potatoes, chopped green beans, coriander leaves, and mint leaves.
  4. Add ginger-garlic paste, garam masala, cumin powder, red chili powder, salt, and lemon juice. Mix well.
  5. Sprinkle in breadcrumbs and mix again. Adjust breadcrumbs if the mixture is too wet.
  6. Shape the mixture into round or oval patties, about 1/2 inch thick.
  7. Heat oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat and fry the kababs for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  8. Transfer cooked kababs to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  9. Serve hot with mint chutney or yogurt dip.

Notes

  • Adjust spices according to your taste preference.
  • These kababs can be baked for a healthier option.
  • Store any leftover kababs in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
