Description
A delicious recipe for gooey homemade brownies that are rich and fudgy.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, remove it from the heat and stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir until just combined; don’t overmix it. If desired, fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it out evenly. Shake the pan to settle the batter and remove air bubbles.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 to 25 minutes. The edges should look firm, while the center remains soft. A toothpick inserted should come out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let the brownies cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut into squares and enjoy!
Notes
- For extra flavor, consider adding nuts or a sprinkle of sea salt on top before baking.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
