- 8 ounces linguine or spaghetti
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup chicken broth or white wine
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving
- Cook the pasta according to the package instructions in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve about a cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and olive oil together. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until golden.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet, seasoning with red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque.
- Pour in the chicken broth or white wine and lemon juice. Let it simmer for a couple of minutes, adding reserved pasta water if needed for desired consistency.
- Toss the cooked pasta into the skillet with the shrimp and sauce, mixing well to coat the noodles.
- Sprinkle in the chopped parsley and toss again. Serve hot with grated Parmesan cheese on top.
Notes
- Adjust red pepper flakes to control spiciness.
- Pair with a side salad or crusty bread for a complete meal.
