Description

A rich and creamy lobster mac and cheese dish that combines tender pasta with a luscious cheese sauce and succulent lobster meat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz elbow macaroni or any pasta of choice
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 lb lobster meat, cooked and chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • breadcrumbs for topping, optional

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, bring salted water to a rolling boil. Add macaroni and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and whisk for about 1-2 minutes until lightly golden.
  3. Gradually whisk in milk and heavy cream, continuing until the mixture thickens, about 5-8 minutes.
  4. Remove the pot from heat. Stir in the cheddar and parmesan cheeses, mixing until melted and smooth.
  5. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder to taste.
  6. Gently fold in the cooked macaroni and chopped lobster into the cheese sauce until evenly coated.
  7. If you’d like a crunchy topping, transfer the pasta mixture into a greased baking dish. Sprinkle breadcrumbs on top and bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and let rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, consider adding a pinch of cayenne pepper.
  • Feel free to substitute the lobster with shrimp or crab if desired.
  • This dish can be made ahead of time and baked just before serving.
