Description
A rich and creamy lobster mac and cheese dish that combines tender pasta with a luscious cheese sauce and succulent lobster meat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz elbow macaroni or any pasta of choice
- 4 cups milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 lb lobster meat, cooked and chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- breadcrumbs for topping, optional
Instructions
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a rolling boil. Add macaroni and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and whisk for about 1-2 minutes until lightly golden.
- Gradually whisk in milk and heavy cream, continuing until the mixture thickens, about 5-8 minutes.
- Remove the pot from heat. Stir in the cheddar and parmesan cheeses, mixing until melted and smooth.
- Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder to taste.
- Gently fold in the cooked macaroni and chopped lobster into the cheese sauce until evenly coated.
- If you’d like a crunchy topping, transfer the pasta mixture into a greased baking dish. Sprinkle breadcrumbs on top and bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, consider adding a pinch of cayenne pepper.
- Feel free to substitute the lobster with shrimp or crab if desired.
- This dish can be made ahead of time and baked just before serving.
