Description
A simple and delicious recipe for making honey baked ham that is perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 fully cooked bone-in ham (about 8 to 10 pounds)
- 1 cup honey
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- Whole cloves (optional, for studding the ham)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F and line a roasting pan with aluminum foil.
- Place the ham, cut side down, in the pan and stud with whole cloves if desired.
- In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine honey, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, ground cloves, ground cinnamon, black pepper, and apple cider vinegar. Stir until smooth.
- Brush a generous amount of the glaze over the ham, reserving some for later basting.
- Cover the ham loosely with aluminum foil and bake for 15 to 18 minutes per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 140°F.
- About 30 minutes before it’s done, remove the foil and brush on more glaze.
- Once done, let the ham rest for 15 to 20 minutes before slicing and serving with any leftover glaze.
Notes
- Make sure to let the ham rest before slicing for maximum juiciness.
- Adjust the baking time based on the weight of the ham.
- Leftover glaze can be drizzled over the slices for added flavor.
