Description

A delicious and easy recipe for Butter Pecan Fudge, perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • ⅓ cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup pecans (chopped)
  • a pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Line an 8-inch square baking dish with parchment paper or aluminum foil, leaving some overhang.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, butter, and heavy cream. Cook the mixture over medium heat, stirring until it comes to a rolling boil.
  3. Allow the mixture to boil for 4 to 5 minutes without stirring, checking that it reaches the soft-ball stage (about 234°F or 112°C) with a candy thermometer.
  4. Remove from heat and quickly stir in the vanilla extract, chopped pecans, and a pinch of salt.
  5. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly with a spatula. Let it cool at room temperature for about an hour or until set.
  6. Lift the fudge out of the dish using the overhang and cut it into squares to serve.

Notes

  • Freshly toasted pecans are recommended for enhanced flavor.
  • Ensure to monitor the temperature closely to achieve the perfect consistency.
