Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 racks of baby back ribs (about 4 pounds total)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust for spice preference)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup of your favorite BBQ sauce (homemade or store-bought)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F.
  2. Remove the silver skin from the back of the ribs.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, smoked paprika, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Rub the spice mixture all over the ribs and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  5. Place the ribs on a large baking sheet lined with aluminum foil and cover tightly with another piece of foil.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours.
  7. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  8. Remove the ribs from the oven, discard the top layer of foil, and brush BBQ sauce over the ribs.
  9. Transfer the ribs to the hot grill and grill for about 5-10 minutes, basting with more BBQ sauce.
  10. Let the ribs rest for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
