I am very lucky to have a husband that’s great in the kitchen. He is our designated cook, and he surprises us all the time. But this chicken tenders recipe is my baby. He came home with his buddies from work a few years ago, and I made them these bacon-wrapped chicken tenders. They all loved it, and these tenders instantly became the star of the show! Easily make these chicken tenders using just pantry ingredients. Make sure to make a big batch because these are so good everyone will be fighting for the last piece!
10 strips bacon
1 pound chicken tenders (about10 chicken tenders)
½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 tablespoon chilli powder
1/3 c. light brown sugar, packed
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ to 1 teaspoon salt
HOW TO MAKE BACON-WRAPPED CHICKEN TENDERS
Step 1: Prepare the smoker (grill or oven). Preheat it to 350 degrees.
Step 2: Place the Italian seasoning, pepper, salt, paprika, onion powder, and garlic powder in a bowl. Mix well and evenly sprinkle over the chicken tenders. Make sure to coat the chicken tenders completely.
Step 3: Wrap each chicken tender with a slice of bacon, tucking in the ends.
Step 4: Combine the brown sugar with chilli powder. Generously sprinkle this over all sides of the bacon-wrapped chicken, pressing the mixture onto the chicken.
Step 5: On the smoker, place the bacon-wrapped chicken. Put the lid on and cook for approximately 30 minutes or until done.
Step 6: On a cookie sheet, place the chicken and broil for a couple of minutes until the bacon is crispy. This is optional but highly recommended.
