Description
Delicious and crispy Asian chicken wings marinated in a flavorful sauce, perfect for any gathering.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds chicken wings
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
- Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes. Whisk until well blended.
- Add the chicken wings to the bowl and toss until fully coated in the marinade. Cover and let marinate in the fridge for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours.
- Remove the wings from the fridge and let them sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Add this to the wings and toss to coat.
- Arrange the wings in a single layer on the wire rack, ensuring they are not touching.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 40 to 45 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- If desired, broil for the last 2-3 minutes for extra crispiness.
- Remove from the oven and let rest for a few minutes. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, increase the amount of red pepper flakes.
- Wings can be marinated overnight for enhanced flavor.
- Serve with a side of dipping sauce for added flavor.
