This is seriously the best oven-baked chicken wings! I love to pair these crispy wings with any of my favourite sauces like honey garlic sauce, honey mustard sauce, ranch dipping sauce, and more! My kids are obsessed with these crispy oven-baked chicken wings. Chicken is a staple at home, and I always search for new chicken recipes to try. I like to serve this crispy chicken with a simple side salad for a simple meal or with some chips during movie night. Always a huge hit and a recipe for keeps!

Ingredients

4 pounds / 2 kg chicken wings, cut into wingettes and drumettes

Oil spray

5 tsp baking powder (NOT BAKING SODA / BI-CARB SODA!!)

3/4 tsp salt

How to make Truly Crispy Oven Baked Chicken Wings

Step 1: Pat dry the wings using paper towels.

Step 2: Position the oven racks to upper-middle and lower-middle positions and preheat the oven to 250 degrees F or 120 degrees C.

Step 3: Using foil, line a baking tray. On the foil, place a rack (such as a cooling rack) and grease with the oil spray.

Step 4: In a large bowl or Ziplock bag, place the wings, baking powder, and salt. Toss to evenly coat the wings.

Step 5: In a single layer, skin-side up, place the wings on the baking tray. On the lower middle oven rack, place the wings and bake for about 30 minutes. Then, move them up to the upper-middle rack and adjust the oven temperature to 425 degrees F or 220 degrees C. Continue to bake for an additional 40 to 50 minutes, rotating the tray halfway through.

Step 6: When done, take the tray out of the oven and allow the wings to stand for about 5 minutes before tossing them in your choice of sauce. Alternately, you can serve the sauce along the side of the drizzle over the wings. Enjoy!
