Chunks of Italian sausage with diced tomatoes, garlic, oregano, basil, and lots of red and green bell pepper and onion in hoagie rolls are perfect for either a grab-and-go snack, lunch, or for an easy and quick weeknight meal. The perfect family meal that is always a huge hit for children! This filling, super delicious, and comforting meal is the way to go!

This light meal is a breeze to throw together. So savoury, this dish is ready in under thirty-five minutes! The perfect addition to your menu rotation especially during busy days.

INGREDIENTS

2 tbsp Vegetable oil

1 package Johnsonville Naturals Mild Italian Sausage

1 green pepper, thinly sliced

1 red pepper, thinly sliced

2 sweet onions, thinly sliced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp tomato paste

1 (14.5-oz) can diced tomatoes

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp dried oregano

1/2 tsp dried basil

1/4 tsp black pepper

1/4 tsp red pepper flakes

HOW TO MAKE ITALIAN SAUSAGE AND PEPPERS

Step 1: Into a large pan, add the vegetables, and cook over medium-high heat.

Step 2: Add the sausages into the vegetables and cook, so the entire sides of the sausages are browned.

Step 3: When done, take the sausages out of the pan and set them aside.

Step 4: Into the same pan with the grease, saute the onion and peppers until soft. Then, add in the garlic and cook for a minute more.

Step 5: Into 1 to 1 1/2-inch piece, slice the sausage and add back to the pan.

Step 6: Continue to cook for another 5 to 10 minutes or until the sausage is cooked through and the sauce has thickened.

Step 7: Once done, serve the Italian Sausage and Peppers on hoagie rolls. Enjoy!
