Buttermilk Oven Fried Chicken

Buttermilk Oven “Fried” Chicken – this baked fried chicken is a lighter version of fried chicken that tastes just like the real deal! Oven fried chicken gets the same crispy texture from “frying” in the oven! 


  • 1 Chicken – cut up
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons chilli garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of paprika
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • Olive oil

How To Make Buttermilk Oven Fried Chicken

Preheat oven to degrees:In a baking dish, combine the flour, garlic, pepper, sugar and paprika.In medium bowl, whisk together buttermilk, eggs, baking powder and baking soda until smooth.Dipping every piece chicken into buttermilk mixture, shaking off excess.Roll in flour mixture, then dip in buttermilk-flour mixture a second time.

Placing in a baking plate and drizzling with olive oil.Bake for about 50 to 55 minutes or until the chicken is golden brown.
