1 c butter softened
1/2 c Sugar
2 large Egg Yolks
1 1/2 teaspoons Vanilla
2 c Flour
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 c Chocolate Chips
1 teaspoon Vegetable Shortening Crisco
1 tablespoon Christmas-colored Nonpareils
Step 1: Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
Step 2: Brush butter on two cookie sheets and place them inside the fridge to chill for about 15 minutes.
Step 3: In a small mixing bowl, add the sugar and butter. Beat until well mixed and fluffy.
Step 4: Add in the vanilla and egg yolks. Beat until well combined.
Step 5: Add in the salt and flour gradually and stir every addition.
Step 6: Transfer the mixture into a star-tip pastry bag.
Step 7: Drizzle the mixture over the prepared baking sheet. Make sure to leave a 1-inch space between each cookie.
Step 8: Place the baking sheets inside the preheated oven and bake for about 11 to 13 minutes or until the sides are almost brown.
Step 9: Remove from the oven and let the cookies sit at room temperature to cool, then to a wire rack.
Step 10: In a small mixing bowl, add in the Crisco and chocolate chips.
Step 11: Place the bowl inside the microwave and allow the mixture to melt for about 30 seconds.
Step 12: Remove from the microwave and stir until well combined.
Step 13: Dip each cookie into the melted chocolate mixture and arrange them back onto the baking sheet.
Step 14: Sprinkle nonpareils on top.
Step 15: Serve and enjoy!
